Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains in plain English how the installer directory handles personal information.
Who operates this site
Trusted Heat Pump Installers is operated by Mick Wall, creator of Energy Stats UK. The site exists to help homeowners review selected heat pump installer options and understand why those options are on Mick’s hand-picked shortlist.
Contact form data
If you use the contact form, the site collects the name, email address, and message you submit. This information is stored so Mick can review and respond to messages about the directory, installer suggestions, or the website.
If you use an installer enquiry form, the site collects the contact and property details you submit, stores the enquiry, and sends those details to the selected installer so they can contact you about your heat pump enquiry. Mick may also receive a copy or notification so the enquiry flow can be monitored.
Installer link click data
When you click an installer referral link, supplier website link, or YouTube interview link from this site, the site may record the installer, the type of link clicked, the time of the click, and basic technical information such as a hashed IP address, browser user agent, and referrer if available.
This is used to understand link activity, maintain the directory, and keep referral information transparent. It is not used to create customer accounts or homeowner profiles.
Page view data
The site may also record basic public page view information, such as the page path, page title, time viewed, referrer, browser user agent, and a hashed session identifier. If IP information is used, raw IP addresses are not stored; only a hashed version is kept.
This helps understand how the website is used, which pages are useful, and how the directory can be improved.
Installer and admin data
The admin area stores information about installers so the directory can be managed. Some installer information is public, such as company name, referral link, customer offer, Mick Says notes, and interview links where available. Other information, such as internal notes and commercial fee amounts, is admin-only.
Why information is used
Information is used to reply to contact messages, send installer enquiries, send customer confirmations, run and maintain the directory, understand page views and installer link clicks, protect the admin area, and improve the website.
Email delivery
The site uses an email delivery provider to send transactional emails, such as contact notifications, installer enquiries, admin summaries, and customer confirmations. These emails are sent only so the website can operate properly and handle enquiries.
Sharing information
Personal data is not sold. It may be shared with service providers needed to run the website, such as hosting, database, or email delivery services. If you choose to click a supplier or referral link, you will leave this website and deal directly with that supplier. If you submit an installer enquiry form, your enquiry details are shared with the selected installer with your consent.
Cookies and analytics
This site currently keeps tracking minimal and local to the application. It records public page views and installer link clicks as described above. It does not currently use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.
How long data is kept
Data is kept only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, such as responding to messages, operating the directory, reviewing click activity, or meeting basic administrative requirements.
Your rights
You can ask what personal information is held about you, ask for corrections, or ask for deletion where it is reasonable and lawful to do so. Use the contact form if you want to make a privacy request.
External links
This website links to external sites, including Energy Stats UK, YouTube, and installer or supplier websites. Those websites have their own privacy policies and terms.
